CoiN (community integration)
“The Community Cohesion Programme provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage with young people from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. Throughout the project, students participated in respectful and meaningful discussions on a range of topics, demonstrating maturity, empathy, and a willingness to listen to the views of others.
Students developed their confidence in communicating their ideas clearly and appropriately, contributing positively to group discussions and collaborative activities. The programme encouraged them to think critically about issues affecting their communities and to consider different viewpoints in a constructive and respectful manner.
In addition to promoting understanding and inclusion, the project supported the development of key employability skills. Students enhanced their communication, teamwork, active listening, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, all of which are essential for success in further education, employment, and wider society. They showed professionalism throughout the programme and represented the college positively when working alongside students from other institutions.
Overall, the Community Cohesion Programme was a highly valuable experience that helped students build confidence, broaden their perspectives, and develop important life and employability skills that will benefit them in their future aspirations.”
