Working together to challenge extremism !

Terrorism is a real and serious threat to us all and we have seen that terrorists
can strike at any time and any place without warning. Leicestershire’s focus is
to work with, for and on behalf of our communities.

We need the support and confidence of communities to improve our ability to identify those
individuals who are most vulnerable and in need of support and interventions.
The priority is to keep the public safe, by working together with key partner agencies and
all communities to tackle any extremism regardless of race, culture, religion or politics.
Everyone can play their part in the identification, referral and support
of vulnerable people who may be drawn to extremism and at risk
of radicalisation.

The WRAP workshop is an introduction to the safeguarding elements of Prevent and
will give people:

An understanding of the Prevent strategy and its links to safeguarding
The ability to use existing expertise and professional or personal judgement to recognise
those vulnerable individuals who may need support
Local safeguarding and referral mechanisms with people to contact for further help
and advice.
