On Saturday 24th November, Tom Wilson of the St Philip's Centre and Ramesh Patni of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies engaged in a dialogue about the similarities and differences between their respective faiths. The event was hosted by the Birmingham Friends of the OCHS. Drs Wilson and Patni continued their dialogue on Saturday 2nd December, this time hosted by the Leicester Friends of OCHS. Both occasions were themed "Scripture in Conversation: A Hindu and a Christian discuss the concept of God using texts from the New Testament and the Bhagavad Gita." The conversation included discussion of the similarities and differences between the Christian understanding of incarnation and the Hindu concept of avatar; the nature of suffering, meditation, and the differences between reincarnation and resurrection.
