On Friday 18th May, Rt Revd Guli Francis-Deqhani, the Bishop of Loughborough, was welcomed to Central Mosque by Shaykh Raza and Counsellor Mustafa Malik. We had a tour of the facilities, and an interesting discussion of the points of connection between Islam and Christianity as well as the challenges facing the Muslim community locally. We are very grateful for the warm welcome we received.

On the evening of Thursday 24th May, Rt Revd Martyn Snow, the Bishop of Leicester, visited Masjid Ul Imam Al Bukhari on Loughborough Road for an iftar, to break the fast Muslims are currently observing during the month of Ramadan. It was a very informal gathering, and we were made very welcome as we ate together after our Muslim friends had prayed. The food was excellent, as was the hospitality.
