On Monday 27th November, Laura Johnson accompanied Denise, one of our Jewish faith practitioners, to Thurnby Lodge for a Taste of Faith on Judaism. Denise brought along some of her belongings to explain about the Sabbath, Passover and Hannukah, and it was lovely to hear about the family connections behind some of them. Food was also provided for the group to taste; these included challah bread, apples dipped in honey - which seemed to be the favourite food of the evening! - and matzos.

Denise was fantastic at explaining Judaism – including beliefs and practices, differences between traditions and how certain festivals are celebrated –  and answered lots of questions from an inquisitive group. It was a relaxed but informative evening, and great to spend time with people from Thurnby Lodge who are dedicated to interfaith work. Thanks to Denise for spending the evening with the group, and also to Paul and Catherine for hosting.
