Meet the Faiths! (multiple faiths)

An opportunity to meet several faith/ belief practitioners in your venue.

Each workshop lasts for 30 minutes with each faith representative including:

  • Opportunity for questions/answers and discussions
  • Faith artefacts to investigate and handle

You choose the faiths you want to explore – Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Humanism, Judaism, Islam or Sikhism

  • Fully interactive and engaging
  • Can be timed to fit your curriculum requirements
  • Can run workshops simultaneously with faith practitioners moving between groups
  • Suits small groups as well as whole classes

A workshop designed to explore one faith/ belief through interaction with one practitioner in your venue. One faith session lasts around 30 minutes including:

  • Opportunity for questions/answers and discussions
  • Faith artefacts to investigate and handle
  • Sharing of faith experience

You choose the faith/belief you want to explore – Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Humanism, Jainism, Judaism, Islam or Sikhism

  • Fully interactive and engaging session
  • Can be timed to fit your curriculum requirements
  • Suits small groups as well as whole classes

Multi-faith Mosaic: an overview of Faith diversity in Leicester & Leicestershire today (90 minute workshop)

RiazRavatAn interactive and challenging 90-minute workshop delivered in your venue by Riaz Ravat BEM, Deputy Director of St Philip’s Centre in Leicester, an experienced inter faith speaker and practitioner.

  • How and why has Leicester/Leicestershire become the home of so many different faiths?
  • How do they co-exist harmoniously?
  • What issues arise from multi-faith and multi-culturalism?

The workshop will:

  • Give information about faiths leading to a better understanding
  • Promote good citizenship
  • Promote better community relations

– can be tailored to meet curriculum requirements for any age

– can be adapted to meet curriculum requirements for religious studies, for citizenship, for government and contemporary politics

Food of Faiths (Half a day)

Foods of FaithSa

  • Why do people of faith eat certain foods at particular times?
  • Why don’t they eat certain foods?
  • What is fasting about?

Half-day interactive workshops brought to you to help young people understand more. Includes:

  • An exploration of the symbolism & importance of certain foods & diets in faiths
  • Cultural/faith foods to explore & sample
  • Experienced faith practitioners on hand to explain & talk about food
  • Overview of health & hygiene issues associated with cultural food
