Unfamiliar Journey

Unfamiliar Journey – an ecumenical course for people who are interested in building good relations with people of   different faiths. Visits to places of worship are included.

  • Like to know more about other faiths?
  • Interested in building good relations with people of different faiths?
  • Ever wondered what people of other faiths think about God,
    suffering, life after death?
  • Is Islam a partner and friend or a rival and foe?
  • How do Christians regard Muhammad?
  • How do Muslims and Hindus regard Jesus?
  • How does the Bible help us with these questions?
  • Where are we in Britain after 9/11 and the London bombings?

This course seeks to explore these and other issues.

Visits to two places of worship in Leicester will be included.

Primarily for Christians of all denominations but those of other faiths are also welcome to attend.

Unfamiliar Journey- Kibworth

The course runs over 6 Wednesday evenings

7.30 – 9.15 pm  September 3, 10, 24 and 1, 8, 15 October 2008

Venue:  The Upper Room, Kibworth Methodist Church, School Road, Kibworth LE8 0JE.

 Cost:  £30 (The course is funded by the Diocese of Leicester, so is free for Anglicans); £20 for Methodists (partially funded). Please contact us if the cost would preclude you from attending.

This course is suitable for those who have done an earlier Unfamiliar Journey or for those who have particular interest in Biblical reflection in relationship to this critical theme. 

Costs:       This course if free for Anglicans from Leicester Diocese for whom it is paid for centrally.  The charge for others is £30.  Please contact us if the cost would preclude you from attending.

Resource persons:  There will be several resource persons who will bring varying approaches.  We will also look at scriptures from other faith traditions.
