Festivals & Faiths
This short session is ideal for a group wanting to learn more about a particular festival in one faith tradition. By contrasting it with a key Christian festival, it gives opportunities to discuss similarities and differences in the two faiths.
Festivals & Faiths is a way of learning about a faith tradition through exploring one of its festivals alongside a seasonal Christian one. Laura will bring along faith practitioners to present on their festival and faith, including the cultural and historical background. The session is interactive so provides plenty of space for discussion and questions and answers. The session will end with shared refreshments.
The Festivals & Faiths sessions we currently offer are:
- Advent and Diwali (Christianity and Hinduism)
- Easter and Passover (Christianity and Judaism)
- Harvest and Eid (Christianity and Islam)
The course is FREE of charge although we do encourage donations to the St Philip’s Centre
Festivals & Faiths is ideal for churches/house groups/societies and can happen during the day or in the evening. Sessions are approx. 2 hours long.
