Clare Downing
Clare Downing was
appointed as the Co-ordinator of Lay Training at the St Philip's
Centre in January 2007. She is a Minster of the United Reformed
Church, and before moving to the Centre, spent eight years serving
two churches in Leicester.
During this time
she became involved in various multi faith concerns, including the
Christian/Muslim dialogue groups, and serving on the Management
Group of the Leicester Faith Regeneration Project.
She is involved in
many of the Centre's courses, but is particularly interested in
helping people who live, work and worship in multi faith areas to
learn more about each other, and find ways of talking about faith
issues.
Clare is a member
of the Training Team of the East Midlands Synod of the United
Reformed Church, through which she has been involved in running a
variety of events and courses, both within the denomination, and
ecumenically.
She is also a
regular contributor to Radio Leicester's 'Thought for the Day'
