Inter Faith Training for Methodists

open to lay people, preachers and ministers

whether you are in village, town, suburban or city contexts

June 25th and 26th with a follow-up day on August 22nd 2007

at St Philip’s Church, Evington Road, Leicester LE2 1QN
How can our churches follow on from the month of prayer for inter faith relations?
What can we do to deepen inter faith understanding?
How can we learn from other faiths but also stay aware of our own distinctiveness?
How do we encourage or enable friendships between people of different faiths?

Aims of the training:

  • To learn more about living out our faith in a world of many faiths

  • To familiarise ourselves with the existing resources available

  • To discover the ideas of others about what works within inevitable time pressures

  • To spend time reflecting on what hinders or helps our potential interfaith ministry

  • To develop ideas for our own settings and to consider strategies for making them work

  • To consider how interfaith work fits within Our Calling and Our Priorities as Methodists

Costs: £135 non residential, £150 for the three days (25th, 26th June, 22nd Aug)

resident over one night with local people.

Grants for at least one third of the cost will be available. Another third should be available through your circuit or district. If finance is a difficulty please speak to us. For more details or a booking form please contact Rev. Jill Marsh 0116 276 7686 jill.marsh51@btinternet.com
