Date : 29.05.07

unity between their faiths.

Hundreds of people packed into Grace Road, the home of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, to watch the squad play against their counterparts from Bradford.
The Leicester team ran out as winners by four wickets in the Twenty20 match, on Saturday.
The Bishop of Leicester, the Rt Rev Tim Stevens, and Dr Ashraf Makadam of the Federation of Muslim Organisations were among those donning cricket whites.
Suleman Nagdi, of the Federation of Muslim Organisations, said: "A lot of people from different faiths and backgrounds came to watch the match, which helped promote better relations between the different faith communities."

The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Dr Rowan Williams, sent a message of support to the cricketers.
He said: "To have brought together players and spectators from the widest range of our communities for an enjoyable day's cricket is a wonderful achievement and I congratulate all concerned."

A cricket match for children also took place on the day.

The Bradford team has invited the Leicester side to take part in a return fixture next summer.
