This course has been designed primarily for Christian clergy and lay people, but all are welcome

To deepen understanding of the relationship between the two faiths
To challenge stereotypes
To reflect on what can be done together for the common good, locally, nationally and internationally
To promote further Muslim—Christian dialogue and support existing networks

Course Content
The programme will include:
Comparative reading of scripture
Theological and spiritual reflection
Issues related to education
Community concerns
Police, prison and security issues
Media
Women and family
European and International dimensions
The role of the Imam
Chaplaincy engagement
Mission and conversion questions
Practicalities and structures for dialogue and engagement
Dr Andrew Wingate is Director of the St Philip’s Centre. His latest book is Celebrating Difference, Remaining Faithful: How to live in a multi faith world. (DLT) He is also Canon Theologian and Bishop of Leicester’s Inter Faith Adviser.
Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra is a Leicester Imam who is nationally known for his contributions in the media and as Chair of the Mosques and Community Committee of the Muslim Council of Britain. He is a member of the National Christian Muslim Forum UK and a consultant of the St Philip’s Centre.

St Philip’s Centre
The St Philip’s Centre is rooted in multi-faith Leicester and is a national resource in response to the Church of England report, ‘Presence and Engagement’. Five denominations– Anglican, Methodist, United Reformed, Roman Catholic and Baptist- are Trustees.
Cost
The cost of the two day course, including food and refreshments is £120.00.
Overnight stay available in the homes of local clergy at £17 (B&B) or hotel £35 (B&B).
Free for members of the Diocese of Leicester; others should ask their training officers or local churches about funding.
